We are pleased to thank the Finley Improvement Association for their donation to us of $750.00. We’ll be purchasing new books and making some improvements with this money. Thank you!

We want to thank those who think of the library with their memorial donations. We received memorials for Chester Schwartz from Linda Bergenheier and from Chester’s family.  A memorial in memory of Carol Klain is from Pam Walcker and in memory of Eldris Wilkens from Carolyn Paulsen.

Another thank you goes out to Loretta Wendlick who donated 51 William W. Johnstone westerns to us. They are paperbacks that are in brand new condition. Johnstone’s books are very popular westerns. These include The First Mountain Man series, The Last Gunfighter series, The Last Mountain Man series and The Eagles series.

We have several new hard cover/large print books in your library lately. They are:

Leverage in Death by JD Robb –This book is set in the not too distant future featuring Lt. Eve Dallas. It’s not so much whodunit but more so a whydunit and howtocatchem.

She Was the Quiet One by Michelle Campbell – Twin sisters are sent to a boarding school. One sister is happy – she can start her new life. The other sister gets in with the wrong crowd. One sister ends up dead, but, there’s a twist in the end!

Years later, Max, their son, is determined to throw off the sadness that has hung over his family. But, he must learn that the meaning of his heritage will help shape his future.

Regular print books new to us are:
The Book that Matters Most by Ann Hood – A book club suggestion is to choose the book that matters most to them for discussion. There are many choices and many reasons for choosing them.

Shadow Tyrants by Clive Cussler

Amazing Grace by Danielle Steel – The lives of 4 unforgettable characters collide as a shocking disaster transforms each of them forever, leading them on journeys of change and revelation, courage and grace.

Red War by Vince Flynn – Mitch Rapp series #17 – The Russian President has inoperable brain cancer. Our CIA director learns she’s facing an opponent with nothing to lose so she sends Mitch Rapp to kill him before he starts a war with the West.

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng – on the New York Times bestseller list for almost a year. It’s about a free spirit artist mother moving with her daughter to Shaker Heights, a town perfect in every way down to the length of the grass in everyone’s yards. A family trying to adopt a Chinese-American baby divides the town. A busy body digs into the artist’s past to the benefit of no one.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris – Lale is sent to Auschwitz and because of the many languages he speaks, he gets a job, tattooing everyone who comes. This book is based on a true story.

Lethal White by Robert Galbraith – Robert Galbraith is also known as JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter books. This book is #4 in the series including #1, Cuckoo’s Calling, #2 is Silkworm and #3 is Career of Evil. We have them all. They feature London Private Investigator Cormoran Strike and his receptionist turned partner Robin. All of the books are really good mysteries. Start with Cuckoo’s Calling.

We have a series of 3 books by Jean Sasson. They are non- fiction and tell the story of the life of a Saudi Arabian princess. Women in Saudi Arabia are non persons, including princesses. It’s hard to read about the treatment. These books are: Princess – A True Story of Life Behind the Veil in Saudi Arabia, Princess – The Sultana’s Daughter, and Princess Sultana’s Circle.
