The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman – The Owens family has been cursed since the 1600’s. Now, in New York City in the early 1960’s, another generation of Owens’ is equally unique and discovers family secrets as well as secrets they’ve kept from each other. This is another good book we have in the Finley Public Library by Alice Hoffman.
Quick and Dirty by Stuart Woods – Stone Barrington series #43 – Stone gets entangled the rarified art business. Many twists and turns leave you wanting more.
Deep Freeze by John Sanford – Virgil Flowers series #10 – Reviewers say this is the best of the Virgil Flowers series Here he goes back to Trippton, MN, where he had investigated the corrupt local school board. Now, there’s a body frozen in a block of ice. It might be connected to a high school class of 20 years ago that has a reunion coming up.
The Rooster Bar by John Grisham – This book highlights the world of for-profit legal education. 3 students are caught up in it and can’t get out – but can they find a way to escape their debt and expose the bank and the scam. To do it, they first have to quit school.
The Award by Danielle Steel – It’s WWII and a young girl’s best friend is deported and since she could do nothing to help her, she joins the French resistance to save the lives of Jewish children. A German commandant recruits her to help save part of France’s artistic heritage until the end of the war when she’s accused of collaboration.
Winter Solstice by Elin Hilderbrand – The “winter” series was a popular set of books enjoyed by our readers. If you read Winter Street, Winter Stroll and Winter Storms, here’s the fourth book for you.
