Our work in the library resource room continues. We’re making it easier to find non-fiction books, westerns, biographies, war and political books. Stop in and have a look around. You might find something you didn’t know we have!
We’re still adding books to inventory. You can look on our website www.finleypl.org. Maybe we have a book/author you’ve been looking for.
While adding books to inventory, we’ve come across some series where we have one or two of the books. We’ve been buying books to fill out those series. Some of those include:
Preston & Child – The Helen Trilogy. It starts with Fever Dream, then Cold Vengeance and finally, Two Graves. Special agent Pendergast is mourning his wife Helen who he thought died in an accident and has found out she was murdered. Digging into her past, he wonders who she really was. He will learn the truth of the ancient proverb: Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.
Elin Hilderbrand’s trilogy starts with Winter Street, her first Christmas novel. Kelly Quinn, owner of Nantucket’s Winter Street Inn, wants to get his family together for Christmas. Chaos descends! Winter Stroll is a continuation of jealousy, passion and eggnog consumption. It’s going to take a miracle to get through the holidays intact! In Winter Storm, the family is preparing to host a wedding with a blizzard coming. Read this trilogy starting with book one…we have all 3.
Tahoe Series by Todd Borg. A reader recommended the Tahoe books to us. We now have several books in the series. You don’t necessarily need to read them in order. Detective Owen McKenna solves complex crimes in each of these books.
An avid reader of William Kent Krueger asked us to order more of his books, so we have. We had a few, now we have all 15 of this series. Book #1, Iron Lake, introduces us to Cork O’Connor, an ex-sheriff in a town in the Boundary waters area of Minnesota. Cork is a good man, a family man and part American Indian. There is Indian folklore in each book making you think. I am on book #7 and I can’t stop reading! I recommend reading these in order.
Other books new to us lately are:
All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda. Thriller, page turner, set to become one of the best books of 2016, fast-paced and frightening, totally gripping – are just a few of the adjectives to describe this book. Written in reverse chronology, each chapter steps further back in time.
Precious Gifts by Danielle Steel. The story of a man’s last wish to make a difference to the loved ones he leaves behind – his ex-wife, his son and daughters. It makes you really thing what we have in life is precious.
Never, Never by James Patterson. An edge of your seat thrill ride. Harry Blue, a lady investigator, tries to clear her brother’s name. He’s been arrested for the murder of three young women. Harry learns to never assume you know someone, never to accept re-assignment to the middle of nowhere, never to trust anyone and never to go anywhere without leaving a trail.
Library hours are Thursday from 6:30 pm to 8:00pm and Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Stop in. We love company! |
