Good morning! Or good afternoon or evening!  Still in California, I am enjoying some lovely weather in the sixties with some rain storms and fog, but mostly sunny days.  I know that is cruel news since you all have been suffering through some sub-zero weather for the last week.  Received an email stating that North Dakota is one of the few states where it must WARM-UP to be able to snow.

The library staff recently ordered three new large print books which should be on the shelf soon.  They are The Bitter Season by  Tami Hoag,  (Kovac/Liska series #6) (2016);  See Me by Nicholas Sparks (no series) (2015);  and The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand (no series) (2015).  We certainly hope that these three titles will be popular with our readers and enjoyable reads.  Be sure to check them out!

Because I am enjoying myself too much I only managed to finish one book this week and here is the review.

Night Sins by Tami Hoag.  (PB) (1995) (Deer Lake series #1) I have the strangest feeling that I have read this book before, but since my name was not on the check-out card, I didn't realize or think that until there were only about fifty pages left!  What it amounts to is that I have read too many books and they are all running together!  Haha!  This book is the first in a series, so there are a couple more that follow that Finley Library also has.

Megan O'Malley is a special Field Agent for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the first woman to hold such a job.  Her plan is to be a cop and do it through hard work and perseverance and it has paid off for her with this promotion--and then she meets the Police Chief of the small town she has just been assigned to cover and all her thoughts of not fraternizing with those she works with go out the window.  A child disappears and there is no ransom note.  The town rallies around the parents to look for the young boy who was taken, but neither he nor a body is found.  What does it all mean?  It means there is a psychopath loose that is intentionally playing with the minds of the police forces in the area.  The web is tangled as always with Tami Hoag as the author, so be ready for some mystery, some romance and the next book in the series!
