We’re having an Open House/Book Sale and you’re all invited. It will be during Finley Days. Stop in on Thursday, June 8 from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm. Check out the improvements we’ve made and buy some books. We’ll have lots of paperbacks for sale at 5 for $1.00 and hard cover books for 50 cents each. We’ll have a good selection so, stop in.

We’re proud to say that as of this week, we have at your library, 8 of the 15 books that are on the New York Times best seller list!! If you’re the type of person who’s waiting for the next book by your favorite author, we most likely will have it!

Thanks to Finley Improvement, we’ve been able to order several new hard-cover large-print books.
They are:

Into the Water by Paula Hawkins – A twisty-turning spooky thriller by the author of Girl on the Train. Visit the town of Beckford and go to the Drowning Pool. There starts the journey to the first story line of many.

Golden Prey by John Sandford – This is Lucas Davenport’s first case as a US Marshal. It involves a drug cartel missing suitcases full of cash, murders of 5 people, including a 6 year old girl. Lucas becomes a target.

All By Myself Alone by Mary Higgins Clark – Celia is a gems and jewelry expert lecturing on a brand new cruise ship. Murder and mysteries to be solved.

The Hope Chest by Viola Shipman – One woman’s hope chest helps 3 people who have each lost a part of themselves find joy once again.

My Husband’s Wife by Jane Corry – A twisty, addictive thriller whose shocking finale you will never forget.

Any Day Now by Robyn Carr – (A Sullivan’s Crossing novel) – The message is to cheri8sh the family you are given and the family you choose.

Heartbreak Hotel by Jonathan Kellerman – Alex Delaware, child psychologist, acquires a nearly 100 year old client who suddenly dies. What’s her story?

Crash & Burn by Fern Michaels – The Women of the Sisterhood’s mission is to help those who can’t help themselves. They’re taking on a law firm, The Chessmen, in Washington DC.

One Perfect Lie by Lisa Scottoline – This story involves Chris Brennan, who is applying to be a High School government teacher and assistant baseball coach but everything about him is a lie.

And, 2 new HC/LP instpirational books:

A Mother’s Love by Charlotte Hubbard – An Amish widow only wants to raise her daughter until her dying mother tells her she’s adopted.

Ebb Tide by Beverly Lewis – Amish girl, Sallie, has dreamed of travel her whole life and has been offered a job as nanny to a well-to-do family summering at the ocean. She meets a Mennonite boy…

Vicious Circle by CJ Box – Game warden Joe Pickett must protect his family now that Dallas Cates is out of prison and carries a huge grudge against Joe. All he can do is wait for the first move.

Man Overboard by JA Jance – Roger McGeary, cyber security expert, “falls” from his cruise ship stateroom. A serial killer is targeting children of suicides.

The Black Book by James Patterson – There’s been a murder at a brothel that caters to Chicago’s most powerful citizens and the madam’s black book is missing. Everyone who is anyone is scrambling to get their hands on it.

Paris for One by JoJo Moyes, the author of Me Before You – This book includes a novella and 8 old fashioned, feel good love stories. Great to read when you’re short on time.

We have all 3 of Ann Shorey’s At Home in Belden Grove series. They are The Edge of Light, The Promise of Morning and The Dawn of a Dream. They are nineteenth century history, intriguing facts about teacher’s training and vivid descriptions of military life from the background.

Other new books are:

Killing Floor by Lee Child – a Jack Reacher novel
The Joe Pickett series by CJ Box. Breaking Point, Stone Cold and Endangered.

Can you all take a look around your house to see if you have any books from the Finley Library? We do have books that are long overdue and would like to recover them. We are working on a policy on how to handle overdue books.

So, remember the Library Open House and Book Sale – Thursday, June 8 from 4 – 8PM. Get some good deals and check out a book or two.

Library hours are Thursdays from 6:30 to 8PM and Fridays from 2 – 5PM.
