We do appreciate donations. Yes, we get your donations of books, but we also receive monetary donations. We use these to buy new hard cover large print books. In the last 3 months we have received donations in memory of Don Bergenheier from Carolyn Paulsen, Starr Braaten, Jennifer Braaten, Pam Walcker and Howie and Bobbie Underwood; Merlin Alm from Linda Bergenheier; Elaine Seibel from Russ and Pam Walcker and Ray Novotny from Howie and Bobbie Underwood. We received from Eunice Juliuson a donation in honor of Howie and Bobbie Underwood.

We also were awarded a generous donation from the Finley Improvement Association. We plan on using this money to replace some carpet and do away with some cinder block and board bookshelves…and to buy more books. Thank you all for thinking of your library with your monetary gifts.

Sitting outside our door one day were 5 boxes of nearly new paperback books. What a surprise! The majority of the books are Amish/inspirational. We know there is an audience for these books so come on in and check them out. A huge thank you goes to Alma Chisnell for these books.

We do have some brand new hard cover large print books:

Sting by Sandra Brown. Shaw Kinnard, a handsome hired killer, has kidnapped his target, Jordie Bennett, to get to her crooked brother who has defrauded investors of $30 million. He thinks Jordie will lead him to the loot. This is a battle of wills.

Here’s to Us by Erin Hilderbrand. Deacon died and has asked his 3 wives and their children to go to his treasured Nantucket cottage to say a final good-bye.

Among the Wicked by Linda Castillo (Kate Burkholder series #8). Sheriff Kate has been called to upstate New York and has to pose as an Amish woman to infiltrate their community to check out rumors of children in danger.

The Matchmakers of Minnow Bay by Kelly Harms. Reviewers say this is a funny story of second chances at romance and life. It explores friendship, flings and finally finding yourself. It sounds like an uplifting book and don’t we all like to read one of these occasionally?

Liar’s Key by Carla Neggers

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

The Wedding Shop by Rachel Hauck

After She’s Gone by Lisa Jackson

Pirate by Clive Cussler (this is a hard cover regular print book donated by Bill Devlin}

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. PB/RP This book has been on the New York Times best seller list for 12 weeks. If you love a riveting mystery, this book is for you! A travel journalist is invited on a luxury cruise ship to write an article about the ship and its passengers. The first night, she hears what she thinks is a body being thrown overboard from the cabin next door. But, she can’t get anyone to believe her. This story keeps you in suspense up to the last page.

Five Days Left by Julie Lawson Timmer PB/RP- A story of two people in two different life situations. One is Mara, a young wife and mother who is suffering from a debilitating disease. She doesn’t want to be a burden to her family so she has decided how and when to end her life. The other person is Scott, a teacher in a disadvantaged area who, with his pregnant wife, has become foster parents to a young boy whose mother has been in jail for a year. It’s now time to give him up. Mara must decide, finally, what she will do in the face of her terminal illness and Scott must decide if he can let go. This book is not an easy read and raises many questions for us to ask ourselves. What would we do? It’s a book you won’t forget about anytime soon!
